Japan! Get Ready for Super Nintendo World! (YouTube)
Nintendo is getting into the theme park business with the Super Nintendo World set to be built in Universal Studios Japan in 2020.
A teaser image of the park focused on the best-selling video game characters, Mario, Luigi, Princess and mascot-images of Peach and Toad. Fans can also expect the Bowser's castles standing inside the theme park and other Nintendo popular characters adding fun to the experience. The characters will reportedly be developed by video game designer Shigeru Miyamoto and Universal Studios.

The company first announced the collaborative work with Universal Studios in November, describing the park as having "expansive and multi-level environment filled with unprecedented, state of the art rides, interactive areas, shops and restaurants, all featuring Nintendo's most popular characters and games."
Meanwhile, Nintendo has said that additional Nintendo theme parks will come to Florida and in Hollywood at a later period. Universal Studios Japan said that it "will introduce the wonder of the world-class, Japan-based entertainment brand of Nintendo not only to Japan but to the world."
Super Nintendo World will take up an area intended for Universal Studios Japan expansion and will exhaust an amount of over $433 million.
Capital market analyst Neil Campling commended the move saying that "It is another example of how the company is looking to monetize away from the traditional gaming platform. I think you are seeing more effort to monetize these great franchises across multiple efforts."
Further, a research conducted by Katsuhiro Miyamoto from the Kansai University was cited claiming that apart from attracting gaming fans and tourists, the project is expected to deliver around 1.1 million jobs and create 11.7 trillion yen worth of economic profits for the country by 2030.
The opening of the Super Nintendo World in Universal Studios Osaka, Japan will coincide with the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
