The GizmoTab Android tablet with an 8-inch display has been unveiled for kids at a fee of $250 or $10.41/month on a contract.
The GizmoTab Android tablet is the new Android-powered tablet from the U.S. based wireless carrier Verizon specially designed for kids. It sports a removable thick rubber bumper around it to protect the device from drops, as seen with other previously launched kids tablets. It has an 8-inch full high-definition display with a resolution of 1920 x 1080 pixels.

The GizmoTab Android tablet offers exclusive Kids content including 300 learning applications. All these apps are grouped into seven different categories termed as Islands. These include Play-Doh ABCs, Operation Math Code Squad, and Nat Geo Puzzle Explorer.
The GizmoTab Android tablet runs on the Android 6.0.1 Marshmallow operating system out of the box with a customized user interface. With the use of the Parent Dashboard, parents can keep track of their kid's usage time and progress. They can also enable or disable access to certain apps.
The GizmoTab Android tablet is powered by an octa-core Snapdragon 617 chipset clocked at a speed of 1.5 GHz and coupled with an Adreno 405 graphics processing unit. It comes with 3GB of RAM and 16GB of built-in storage that can be further extended up to a maximum of 128GB with the use of the microSD card slot.
The GizmoTab Android tablet features an 8-megapixel camera at the back and a 5-megapixel front-facing camera. The tablet case with a stylus (that comes in six different bright colors) is available for only $35. It also has a handle that can act as a kickstand when placed upside down.
The GizmoTab Android tablet is packed with a 5100 mAh battery that can last a day of usage even with a heavy usage and up to 14 days during standby mode. It supports 4G LTE with other basic connectivity options such as Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, GPS, and microUSB 2.0 port.
The GizmoTab Android tablet comes in midnight blue color and will start shipping on Dec. 12.
