Launched on Kickstarter, the company claims that the insoles are water-resistant, incredibly light, wafer-thin, and come with a built-in accelerometer that automatically turns on when the user starts walking.
The heated insoles, which is said to have unmatched ergonomics, has various applications. Since it keeps one's feet warm during cold, the insoles can be fitted inside ski boots, cycling shoes, ice skating boots, snowboard boots or any semi-rigid boots and then turned on using the integrated app. The insoles work even when a user's smartphone battery is low with the help of the inner accelerometer.
The team behind the project revealed on Kickstarter that the heated insoles are a result of three years of intense development and testing. Having been designed in Switzerland and manufactured in the north of Italy (one of the best manufacturing districts of the world), the insoles are the thinnest in the market with only two-millimeter front thickness.
Since almost 3.5 billion people live in areas with cold weather and the smartphone market has reached two billion units and continues to grow, the company aims to target its wide audience of commuters, skiers, cyclists, hockey players, hunters, fishermen, snow boarders and elderly people worldwide.
To use the insoles, download the +t app from iOS/Android store and pair the phone with the insoles. If the battery level of the insoles is low, charge them with the help of a USB plug. Afterward, place the insoles in your shoes/boots and then set the desired temperature. If the user does not want to operate the insoles with a smartphone, he/she can leave smartphone behind because the insoles would turn on automatically with its in-built accelerometer.
+Winter insoles are currently available via e-commerce only at www.plus-t-store.com in a small stock (few hundred pairs) for the European market. The +Winter product is CE certified.
