AT&T has launched a chat bot named "Atticus."
Whether his name originated from "To Kill a Mockingbird" or the "Go Set a Watchman" novel, this AI feature can discuss different pop culture topics for hours. The Verge described the automated program as a companion for lonely television binge watchers.

Now, users can just talk all day long about their favorite series without worrying about getting the listener overloaded with information.
In a promotional video, the AI was described as a "goofball" and people find it "hard to believe he's not real." Atticus described himself saying "if the Dunphy family is looking for another kid, I'd be happy to join them. I'd be no trouble. Especially since I don't physically exist. We'd be a real Modern Family."
Besides Modern Family, this AI kid is also very familiar with other television programs including Big Bang Theory, How to Get Away with Murder, American Horror Story, Modern Family, The Office and Pretty Little Liars.
However, the knowledge of this AI system is only limited to pop culture which means it is not fit for late night chats about life. In a conversation about bloodline initiated by The Verge, Atticus answered: "Sorry, my bot code is having an issue." The program insisted that it was built to "talk TV." In the end, the bot referred the chatter to contact AT&T through its official website or Twitter account for other concerns.
