Apple's latest laptop, the MacBook Prom failed to receive recommendations from reputable product review magazine, Consumer Reports. This is the first time that this has happened in the history of the company's notebook computers.

This Apple laptop has a Touch Bar placed on top of its keyboard and an OLED powered screen that works with the Touch ID and substitutes for function keys. Three versions of the MacBook Pro - a 15-inch variant, 13-inch without Touch Bar, and 13-inch with Touch Bar - were tested and the assessment revealed that each model has "highly inconsistent" battery life. For instance, the 13-inch with Touch Bar variant had a battery life for 16 hours during the first test but went down to 12.75 hours and 3.75 hours in second and third trials, respectively.

The magazine emphasized the importance of battery life as an "attribute for a laptop" as it makes up a big portion of the general score for the gadget. In fact, many users have already complained online about the poor battery health of the Apple laptop which contradicts what the company promised. The American tech giant claims that its latest computer's battery can last for up to 10 hours.

Consumer Reports emphasized that "this is a real departure from past MacBooks" with a review saying that "after factoring together our complete test results, Consumer Reports finds that all three MacBook Pro laptop fails to meet our standards for recommended models."

Further, Jerry Beilinson from the magazine wrote online, "with the widely disparate figures we found in the MacBook Pro tests, an average wouldn't reflect anything a consumer would be likely to experience in the real world."

Apple has refused to explain its side of the issue saying that "any customer who has a question about their Mac or its operation should contact AppleCare."
