IBM plans to use its artificial intelligence engine Watson to fight against cyber crime.
According to Nasdaq, officials at IBM want to teach this platform "the language of the computer security world." Thousands of reports about potential security lapses are made on a daily basis. Watson would process this avalanche of information and detect critical threats.

IBM Security believes that Watson could be a great help because, according to their data, security researchers receive more data than they can handle efficiently. Watson's artificial intelligence platform can analyze all this data and filter what is relevant from what is not.
According to IBM employee Caleb Barlow, Watson would behave "like a kind of radar. He will not change the direction or sense of the boat or the plane, but he will certainly tell you what objects you have to avoid."
To fulfill this task, experts will have to "train" Watson to understand the language of the computer security world.
