Apple iPhone 7 Plus has been hit with fans. Now, thanks to a bizarre incident from Russia, more people are suddenly interested in the Apple smartphone, especially its water resistance capabilities.
According to the Sun, an unexpected ice fishing mishap in Russia resulted in an iPhone 7 Plus being fished out from the bottom of the frozen river after being submerged for nearly 13 hours. What was amazing is the fact is that the device was functioning perfectly!

The incident took place in Yakutsk, a city located in Russia. A resident identified as Fedor through a video posted on the diver's Instagram account accidentally dropped the iPhone in one of the ice fishing holes carved on the frozen river's surface. Unfortunately, the resident could not retrieve the phone at the time, and the smartphone was left overnight until a friend helped the resident to dive and retrieve the smartphone the next morning.
The iPhone 7 Plus smartphone switched on with absolutely no trouble after being pulled out from the underwater. It was submerged at a temperature of 39.2 F for around 13 hours, according to Tech Times. There was no other damages or scratches due to the mishap.
Another interesting thing was that the iPhone 7 Plus slipped into the frozen river at 35 percent battery. When retrieved, it was at 19 percent battery.
The Apple iPhone 7 Plus was designed as a waterproof device. The rubber seals and adhesives on the smartphone were strategically placed to limit any intrusion by water or dust.
