"Proxima Centauri", our nearest neighbor outside of our galaxy, the Milky Way, is host to a compact dwarf and red star. Scientists who have been studying the universe, our galaxy in particular have discovered signs of life in the system. There exist a planet that is just like Earth, which is under close observation as it is showing some signs that it could be habitable.

In a report by Solarsystemquick, "Proxima Centauri" is in the Centaurus constellation. It is only 4.2 light years away from the sun, which makes it the nearest to Earth. Together with Centauri A and Centauri B, this exoplanet compose the Alpha Centauri System, however it is located extremely far from its sisters at 1.9 trillion kilometers.

Additionally, Space provided insights on "Proxima Centauri's" attributes that may shed light to its potential for alien life or whether it could support and sustain life. Centauri b, which is found to have almost the same mass as our own planet Earth is orbiting within the "habitable zone" of the Centauri system.

"Proxima Centauri" just like the Earth's solar system is also governed by gravity with the Alpha Centauri system. The three-sibling star-system follows an orbit close to one another, except for the non-conformist "Proxima Centauri" that has an enormously wide orbit. Proxima b, the star's planet is just located in the region that may allow water to exist on its surface. The region is not too hot or too cold, hence may have liquid water and has potential to support life.

However, astronomers still have a lot to uncover on the possibility of life in "Proxima Centauri". Hence, for more news and updates on Proxima b, stay tuned to Telegiz.
