Speculations are rife after the discovery of the application. Such vaporizer technology may be used for a wide range of purposes, including for the purpose of designing a regular vaporizer. However, the technology also has potential use in cars for diffusing aroma or any other such substance.
The patent has been filed in the name of Apple employee Tetsuya Ishikawa. The application outlines the schematic for a device which contains a temperature regulated plate inside a chamber. Such chamber is used for a heating up a substance to convert it into vapor form. The device keeps the air out of the chamber containing the substances being vaporized.
While vaporizers are mainly used as replacement for regular cigarettes or for the purpose of inhaling nicotine or marijuana. However, these devices are also used for agriculture and healthcare purposes. Given the limited information provided in the application, it is not quite possible to pin down the main motive behind this Apple application.
Vaping has become a big trend in the United States and worldwide. The apparatus is also gaining market share as the government are offering more favorable treatment for marijuana use. It is reported that one of the company's former designers had left Mac OS X team to create a new, ultra-luxe vaporizer with $330 price tag.
However, like many other patents owned by Apple such foldable phone and translucent phone, this vaporizer device may also never see the light of the day. Apple refused to provide any comment about the patent application.
