Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2. trailer
The recent partnership between Marvel and Square Enix is starting to blossom as two super-hero games are already being developed.
Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal are best known for their "Tomb Raider" games. Given the success of "Rise of the Tomb Raider", the game studios are aiming to make another game franchise just as successful.

We will soon witness the birth of two new games based on the Marvel universe. While superhero games are a dime a dozen, this one's different since it's being handled by a studio known for producing quality titles such as "Deus Ex."
Both studios are expected to release a game based on "The Avengers" and another separate title based on "Guardians of the Galaxy." In fact, the "Guardians of the Galaxy" game is already being developed albeit in "early stages" of production, according to GameSpot.
The future of Marvel games
Marvel entertainment has a long history of superhero based games. This includes "Marvel: Ultimate Alliance", "Marvel Nemesis: Rise of the Imperfects", and so on.
Marvel's games ranged from adventure, action, fighting genres to even silly "Lego" versions. However, it's been a long time before a quality Marvel title has been released.
Fortunately, a big-name publisher like Square Enix will be able to get top quality Marvel games on the market soon. The fact that well known studios like Crystal Dynamics and Eidos Montreal will be handling the Marvel games increases its chances of success.
Comes at the expense of other well known series
Meanwhile, with the focus set on Marvel games, Eidos Montreal won't be prioritizing their other well-known games like "Deus Ex." A report from Eurogamer confirmed that the "Deus Ex" series is put on hold, indefinitely.
However, this won't be the death of their other fan-favorite titles such as the "Tomb Raider" franchise. The same source mentioned that fans can expect a new "Tomb Raider" title very soon.
