Windows Cloud vs Chrome OS
The Microsoft Windows Cloud is made to compete against Google's Chrome OS. Chromebooks loaded with Chrome OS are starting to become popular because it is low cost but sufficient enough for educational purposes, which is bad for Microsoft.
With this, Windows Cloud's built is similar to Windows 10, only with minor differences than the standard version. Microsoft have monopolized educational institutions for years because they have Windows that is the only reasonable operating system to be used on students - it is low cost and a standard for majority of computer devices around the world.

Mac OS is inclusive on Apple Devices which are too expensive, while the Linux OS is normally used by advanced-level computer users. So Google boldly made the move in making the Chrome OS which is both lightweight and easy to use. According to reports, Chrome OS is starting to become a popular option for basic computer users, especially for schools and universities who needs to buy OS licenses in bulk.
This have sounded the alarm for Microsoft, so the launch of Windows Cloud which is also lightweight and easy-to-use is a smart decision. The new OS is identical to Windows 10 as far as the interface is concerned. But the big difference is that it can only run UWP (Universal Windows Platform) apps.
A warning will pop-up if the user will try to run anything other than UWP apps. Educational institutions will benefit greatly from this, they will be sure that students can't infect the machines with malwares or other unapproved games. Chrome OS has this feature as well, so taking this in mind could make schools stick with their current Windows platform.
The Windows Cloud will soon be available, most likely around spring this year, target to be released months before classes start, as schools will need to assess their budgets and see which platform will fit with their educational needs and their pockets.
