A device with almost the same model number was also filed with the Federal Communications Commission on December 28, 2016. The device is likely to be a single SIM variant of the Huawei Maya.
Leaked images of the FCC filing shows the device with a rear camera, possibly a 12-megapixel camera with dual LED flash but with no front camera. The device is expected to have a single SIM card and has a slot for microSD, but there is no information about its internal storage capacity yet. Based on the FCC filing, the Huawei Maya will run on a decent 2,920 mAh battery.
Other specifications include 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi connectivity, Bluetooth (possibly 4,0), and 4G LTE capability.
Based on the back photo of the device included in the filing, the Huawei Maya is likely to feature changeable back covers.
It is possible that this new budget smartphone will be unveiled at the Mobile World Congress at the end of the month. It is expected to be priced between $100 and $150.
