Mont Blanc
Google's Street View cameras recently captured images of the world's largest model railroad, and have now launched footage of Mont Blanc, which is the highest mountain of the Alps. The search giant teamed up with photographers, mountaineers, skiers, and climbers to build the collection of 360-degree virtual reality (VR) videos.

Mont Blanc ("White Mountain") is the highest peak in Europe outside the Caucasus mountain range. It is also the 11th tallest mountain in the world.
The mountain on the French-Italian border is around 15,777 feet (4,809 meters) high. It is always covered with a field of snow and ice.
Street View is providing images of some of the famous trails around the mountain range from the perspective of different people. That includes skiers, trail-runners, ice climbers, hikers, and paragliders, for example.
VR fans can also see 360 videos of the Mer de Glace glacier. Google's Street View allows people the virtual experience of "walking" across the colossal river of ice, according to Computerworld.
Google used 360-degree Photo Spheres to capture the footage. This allows viewers to see around the mountain's summit, or climb ice columns.
The tech company points out that the glacier and other areas of the mountain are changing quickly due to rising global temperatures and melting ice. Therefore, Street View videos are creating a "digital record" so people in the future can see how the mountain's form has changed, according to Tech Crunch.
Street View is a project of the Google Maps team and has become part of pop culture. It allows users to explore amazing places of the world by using their smartphones, tablets, or desktops/laptops.
Google is likely using Street View to create content for its Cardboard project. The $20 VR headset was released in 2014 and has teamed up with third-party content providers including The New York Times, Volvo, Disney, and LG Electronics.
Google's VR kit Expeditions provides students with virtual tours of interesting places. They include the Great Wall of China, Buckingham Palace, Great Barrier Reef, and Mars.
The company is also rolling out a beta version of its Expeditions app. It will help the company to fix bugs and add new features.
