The recent announcement that the "The Last of Us 2" is coming soon is putting gamers on their toes. Despite the confirmation, no release date has been confirmed for the game. While news suggests that it might arrive in a few months, game experts believe it will arrive in 2018. After all, it took a decade after the original game gave way to a sequel.

There are reports that the game trailer may have included the release date of the game. The idea came from Ellie's song which featured the Bible verse Psalms 23. Incidentally, the song also specifically mentioned chapter four of the verse, which keen fans immediately deduced to mean that April 23 is the release date of "The Last of Us 2."
But with the publisher targeting 2019 as a possible release date for "The Last of Us 2," it's unlikely that the game will arrive this April. Recently, the game alongside director Neil Druckmann became the topic of the news after fans alleged the game is too political. Druckmann addressed the issue saying that "The Last of Us" has always been political and it is one of the game's highly prominent trademark that makes it very different from other games.
In a Twitter post by Neil Druckmann, he answered a fan that was too bothered by the political aspect of the game. The post said "No can do. Writers work off of their views of the world. For example, the ending of TLoU is very much inspired by my 'personal politics.'"
"The Last of Us 2" was introduced in December 2016 during the PlayStation Experience. It was the first time Naughty Dog released something about the game after years of keeping silent on the development of "The Last of Us" sequel. Some of the big surprises during the event is the revelation of its main characters Ellie and Joel.
