The Honor V9 smartphone is scheduled to be unveiled on Feb. 21 in Beijing, China.
The Honor V9 will be the successor of the high-end Honor V8 smartphone, which was launched in May last year in China. It will be officially launched at an event a week ahead of Mobile World Congress 2017.

The Honor V9 recently got certified by the Chinese equipment certification center (TENAA). It sports premium specifications with an all-metal unibody design.
The Honor V9 also features the Honor branding on front and back as seen in other Huawei and Honor devices. It is equipped with the circular fingerprint sensor on the rear, the volume rocker and the textured power button on the right edge, and the hybrid SIM card slot on the left edge.
The Honor V9 has a 5.7-inch quad high-definition display with a resolution of 2560 x 1440 pixels. It is powered by an octa-core chipset clocked at a speed of 2.5GHz, which is the latest Kirin 955 SoC. It runs on the latest Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box with the EMUI 5.0 skin laid on top.
Unlike the Honor 8, the Honor V9 houses a protruding dual lens rear camera. The rear camera includes two 12-megapixel sensors along with dual tone LED flash and hybrid laser autofocus. It is accompanied by an 8-megapixel front-facing camera for selfies.
The Honor V9 comes with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage and possibly a 4GB RAM variant with lesser storage options. It is packed with a 3900 mAh battery that might support fast charging with the Huawei's SuperCharge technology.
The Honor V9 also supports Huawei Pay mobile payment service which is only limited China. Other connectivity options are 4G VoLTE, Bluetooth 4.2, Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac, NFC, A-GPS, 3.5mm audio port, GPS, and USB Type-C port.
The Honor V9 supports dual SIM dual standby using the hybrid SIM slot as a secondary SIM or a microSD card. It measures 157 × 77.5 × 6.97 mm in dimension with a weight of 184 grams.
