Sony launched its brand new Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 compact in Australia on Dec. 3, 2015, while Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi is prepping up to launch its upcoming flagship model Xiaomi Mi5 on February. The said device from Xiaomi will boast super powerful yet not so expensive smartphone.
There are rumors spreading like a wildfire that the existing Sony device and the upcoming Xiaomi powerhouse will have some similarities.

According to a Weibo post, Xiaomi launched its Mi5 Jan. 21 although the official release of the device in the market will be a week after. The price of Xiaomi's Mi5 is said to be at 1,999 Yuan or an estimated $310, Phone Arena reported; however, contradicting reports suggest that the upcoming Xiaomi flagship will be priced at 2,499 Yuan or an estimated $385 due to its powerful specs. Compared to Mi5, Sony's flagship Xperia Z5 is more expensive as one would need to shell out 4,999 Yuan.
The Xperia Z5 boasts 5.2-inches IPS LCD capacitive screen with 1080 x 1920 resolution at 428 pixel density, while the Xioami Mi5 will have a 5.3-inches IPS LCD capacitive display with 1440 x 2560 pixel resolution at 554 PPI.
According to Phone Arena, Z5 is very slippery. On contrary, Z5 has premium look that flaunts in frosted glass panel with matte finish. Readers should know that Xiaomi has yet to release the device in order to feel the exterior design of Mi5.
Researchers have said that the Mi5 will sport 4GB of RAM with 16GB/64GB internal storage capacity, whereas the Sony Xperia Z5 sports 3GB of RAM and 32 GB storage internal capacity. The Z5 supports microSD card whereas Mi5 does not.
Following its tradition, Sony Z5 has 23MP rear camera and 5.1MP front camera with LED flash, while Mi5 will be sporting 16MP rear and 6MP front camera with dual-LED flash. The battery specification for Z5 and Mi5 is 3,430mAh and 3,030mAh, respectively.
Readers should also know that both smartphones has same fast charging option and fingerprint scanner. An advantage feature of Xperia Z5 is its water proofing 68 rating IP that Mi5 does not have; however, according to TXN, Mi5 will have a USB Type-C port wherein Xperia Z5 lacks.
