Among the natural remedies to solve premature ejaculation are acupuncture, Chinese herbal medicine, Korean topical cream, and Ayurvedic herbal medicine. These have shown promising results, particularly extending sexual drive for 30 seconds and above, the journal Sexual Medicine stated.
The study looked into two cases of acupuncture, one of Ayurvedic, five for Chinese medicine, and two for Korean topical creams. Acupuncture extended sexual activity up to half a minute, Ayurvedic medicine increased for nearly a minute, Chinese herbal medicine extended activity by two minutes, and Korean topical cream increased the activity for more than eight minutes, Fox News reported. The figures are promising enough to prove that natural remedies do provide help for premature ejaculation.
To make the treatment more effective, it was noticed that a combination of traditional and natural remedies are proven much better than simply settling for either of the two. Paired-up with serotonin reuptake inhibitors, natural remedies can increase IELT (intravaginal ejaculatory latency time) to more than twice.
Lead author Kat Cooper of University of Sheffield said, "To our knowledge, this is the first systematic review to assess complementary and alternative medicine for premature ejaculation." For years, those who practiced traditional medicine deemed it unconventional to spend time with alternative solutions. The recent study conducted is among the firsts to see the potential of natural remedies.
Premature ejaculation prevalence is hard to determine, as most men do not want to talk about it in the public as it may cause them embarrassment. Donald Patrick, vice chair for research at the University of Washington in Seattle said that premature ejaculation is a common condition that can damage relationships due to its psychological effects on men.
