Android Marshmallow Release Update For HTC One M8, One M9, LG G3 And LG G4

If reports are anything to go by, the HTC One M8 and HTC One M9 smartphones will receive the Android Marshmallow update in the next few days.

Reports also suggest that the electronics maker LG will release the new Marshmallow update to LG G3 and LG G4. However, the owners will have to wait a little longer. The Moto G 2015 has already got the Android Marshmallow update.

Mo Versi, HTC executive, has said that the HTC One M9 on Videotron, Wind, Rogers and Sasktel will get the Android Marshmallow update. However, Versi did not disclose when the Android 6.0 M update will hit the variants on Verizon and AT&T.

The HTC One M8 will get the Android Marshmallow update beginning on January 25, 2016. The file brings improvements and bug fixes and has 1.14GB in size.

Devices such as Desire 826, Desire 820, Desire 816, Butterfly 3, M8 Eye, E8, ME, E9+, E9, A9 and One M9+ will get the Android Marshmallow update. However, it is not known when these devices will get the latest update.

The Moto G 2015 (unlocked version) began receiving the Android 6.0 Marshmallow update around Christmas. At present, all devices should run on the new operating system.

The LG G4 will receive the Android Marshmallow update on February 1, 2016 while the LG G3 on Canadian carrier Telus will get the Android Marshmallow update on March 14, 2016. The Android 6.0 M update rolled out to LG G3 devices in Poland in December 2015. In March 2016, Android Marshmallow update will be available for the devices connected to Verizon, US Cellular, T-Mobile, Sprint and AT&T.

The devices will get new features of Android Marshmallow such as Google Now on Tap, better app permissions, simpler volume controls, Doze, direct share, fingerprint support and the battery saver, according to The Verge.

The search giant Google has disclosed that Android Marshmallow is running on 0.7% of devices three months after its launch, according to 9to5Google.

On the other hand, Android Lollipop is running on more than 30% of devices, with 15.7% running on Android 5.1 and 16.9% using Android 5.0.
