"A remake of 'Final Fantasy VII' required substantial preparedness. The voice actors have almost finished voice recording of the main story. Fans may have the image of the Cloud from 'Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children,' but since this is the 'prime' Cloud from before Advent Children, the performance may feel fresh," Kitase said.
For a sneak preview, the key visual for "Final Fantasy VII" was exposed during the Final Fantasy 30th Anniversary Opening Ceremony. However, Kitase did not divulge any further information and said "I'll leave the meaning of the Sephiroth that doesn't exist in the original (the black wing?) to everyone's imagination."
While developing "Final Fantasy 7" for PlayStation 4, Square Enix showed two new screenshots at the Magic 2017 in Monaco, France. The in-game screenshot at the world premiere shows Cloud sneaking around the starting area.
For the new image of "Final Fantasy 7" director Tetsuya Nomura said that he put a lot of efforts into the combat system. He assured fans that there are not going to be any interruption and even teased about using grenades. However, he emphasized that grenades cannot deal damage to allies.
The other screenshot is of the first boss: Guard Scorpion. Nomura said that it would be Scorpion and scenery which will be somehow destructible.
"Final Fantasy 7" remake is in development for PlayStation 4.
