Players are reported to keep coming back again and again for the free-to-play and rare enduring universes of the company's franchise. This has prompted the company to expand its reach to other platforms for playing free-to-play combat games.
Evidence is found when Worldgaming launched "World of Tanks Blitz" last month on Windows 10 and Windows mobile devices, besides being previously available on Android devices and iOS devices. Since the number of Wargaming's combat gamers continue to rise, the company is eager to increase its market reach and is expanding to numerous platforms such PlayStation 4. Wargaming's plan already started, and this week, their popular free-to-play PC game "World of Tanks" will launch on Sony's PS 4.
The move by the company to launch "World of Tanks" in PS 4 was decided by Wargaming's chief strategy officer Sean Lee. Lee, who was one of the executives deciding to which platform will "World of Tanks" conquer next, discussed how "World of Tanks" will be delivered and move in to new platforms and new audiences.
Lee mentioned in an interview that their strategy is really working well since their employees in studios across the globe had grown to 4,000. He mentioned that they are not fond of taking the easy road, and always taking their time to decide and create best version for their gaming franchise.
Meanwhile, Wargaming's founder Victor Kislyi said that the company has found technical differences among various platforms, and that a good game is a good game, irrespective of the platform on which it is being played.
Kislyi also said that this realization has prompted the company to move their PC games to consoles after carrying out research works on the various ways of doing it. He said that the company was smart enough to realize that it would be very difficult without having experience or any console background. The company has already started looking for additional studios for this reason.
