'Final Fantasy VII Remake' is an upcoming video game remake, developed and published by Square Enix, of the original 1997 PlayStation role-playing video game by Square.
New details for "Final Fantasy 7" remake will feature changes for the remake from the original game and a possible episodic release.
It looks like that "Final Fantasy 7" remake might get an episodic release soon as Square Enix producer Yoshinori Kitase teased plans for each episode to make sure that players and fans’ interest is maintained in the title, despite the fact that there will be significant gaps in between releases, GamingBolt reported.

Kitase added that "Final Fantasy 7" remake will be expanded through compilation, although Square Enix do not have any fundamental plans on that for now, but since the game volumes will not be something that they can release in just a few months.
Square Enix would like to think of a way to supplement those gaps to maintain interest for the gaming fans. Kitase also plans to have a live stream or a program to update the gaming fans regarding the remake's progress.
Kitase wanted to pattern "Final Fantasy 7" remake to that of "Final Fantasy XIII" with three episodes and each part will be a full-scale game as every installment may tell the story from a different perspective.
Meanwhile, game director Tetsuya Nomura teased possible changes for "Final Fanasy 7" remake from the origina PlayStation title as he stated during interviews from the French media that the game will have a lot changes, but the "essence" of it still remains.
Nomura also mentioned that the existing compilation of "Final Fantasy VII" such as "Crisis Core", "Advent Children", "Dirge of Cerberus" etc. and stated that they are "off the table" for now as the "FF7" remake is loaded with lots of mysteries.
Acknowledging the "Final Fantasy VII" compilation would lead to a lack of cohesion between titles. Perhaps, Square Enix wants "Final Fantasy 7" remake to stand as its own game similar to the original, RPGFan reported.
"Final Fantasy 7" remake is speculated to launch sometime within 2017 for the PS4.
