The latest details for the new "Spider-Man" game in the PlayStation 4 will feature updates on the game's development and storyline not connected to the MCU.

Rosemann specifically talked about the relationship between the teams at Marvel Games and Insomniac Games, as the two companies divised and plan certain elements and ideas to make "Spider-Man" great in the PS4. Rosemann continued to talk about how this has driven the development of the project from a place of love, stating that they wanted to make Spider-Man as "awesome" as he can be to not just the comic book and gaming fans, but to other people who barely know him.
Both companies are focused and determined to bring the new "Spider-Man" game into new heights for the next generation gamers across the world, Gamerant reported.
Meanwhile, it seems that the new "Spider-Man" game will not be connected to the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Rosemann told IGN that both Marvel and Insomniac Games are given the freedom to come up with "original" stories, which are not tied to any Marvel produced film.
Rosemann mentioned several video game titles aside from "Spider-Man" PS4, such as "Guardians of the Galaxy: The Telltale Series", "Marvel vs. Capcom: Infinite" and "The Avengers" project from Square Enix.
In a sense, the "Spider-Man" PS4 featured a much older and experienced Peter Parker rather than the teenage version played by Tom Holland in the MCU.
Rosemann added that the plot will have full of mysteries as there is a story behind everything, delving deeper into the web-slinger's world. The game will have a huge open-world gameplay in New York as Spidey utilizes his web swinging and amazing parkour skills to move around and fight criminals on a daily basis.
Sony and Marvel has not yet announced a release date of "Spider-Man" for the PS4.
