"Outlast 2" will be arriving to stores in physical and digital formats on April 25. Red Barrel's sequel to its first-person survival horror video game will be available on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
Red Barrel made this announcement via Twitter on Tuesday. "Welcome to Temple Gate. "Outlast 2" will be available digitally on PC, XBOX One and Playstation 4 on April 25th," the company wrote on the microblogging platform. The game was originally set for release at the end of 2016, but then it was delayed to early 2017.

In the game, players will take the role of a cameraman Blake Langermann who works with his wife Lyn as investigative journalists. The brave couple is willing to take risks and digging deeper to lay bare the stories that no one would dare to cover. This time, they delve into the "impossible murder" of an unidentified pregnant woman.
Their investigation leads them to the Arizona desert. The game's description says that it is "a darkness so deep that no one could shed light upon it, and a corruption so profound that going mad may be the only sane thing to do."
According to Engadget, the game's creator Philippe Morin said that the setting is not designed for players to get a "feeling of freedom," but it will rather make them feel claustrophobic, crushed and consumed by fear of the creeping horrors hiding inside.
Morin says that the first title intends to take away the players' "physical integrity," but this time, the new title will take away the players' "mental integrity." "Outlast 2" will go a little deeper "on the psychological layer" of the human psyche.
"Outlast 2" is priced $39.99 for the disc-based copy and $29.99 for the digital copy. Alongside the launch is a release of a physical collection of the "Outlast" series called "Outlast Trinity" including the Whistleblower DLC.
