Google's next flagship dubbed as Pixel 2 is said to be a premium device that will apparently create a hole in one's pocket. But if the latest leaks are true, a budget friendly Pixel variant will reportedly be made available to reach the untapped segment in emerging markets.
Despite the fact that Google Pixel 2 is not as much talked about on the rumor mill, some interesting development has been making the rounds online recently. Early this week, reports have it that the next iteration in the Pixel series will be an expensive device.

Google's hardware head Rick Osterloh confirmed this news. He has been quoted saying that "Pixel stays premium."
One can recall that Google only started to enter the flagship smartphone arena in 2016 and it looks like the company plans to put up a good fight against its competitors, WccfTech noted. On the down side of things, the premium pricing could have an adverse result on the company as it will lose a sizeable number of loyal customers.
But Google may be brewing something for these users who choose to buy budget friendly handsets. The company would release a budget Pixel variant alongside Pixel b, a source told 9to5Google.
The leaker further said that the device is running some tests with custom processors and that Pixel 2 will be packed with hardware-based image stabilization and waterproofing features. Also, the source said that the Budget Pixel is being created by the same team that is handling the development of the Pixel successor. It's set to be introduced in emerging markets and sold outside of the United States.
If this is the case, tech savvies will likely see two variants of the Google Pixel 2 later this year. But like other leaks, one must take this with a pinch of salt until Google makes an official statement regarding the budget friendly Pixel variant.
