The Nintendo Wii U is the original platform of "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild." It was meant to be exclusive to the console until the company announced that the title would also come to the Nintendo Switch, its latest hybrid console.
The game has gotten positive reviews from different publications that named it the best Zelda game so far. However, how does the game's performance compare on the Wii U and the Switch?

Both versions of the "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" on the Nintendo Wii U and Nintendo Switch are capped at 30 fps and have the same in content. The Switch can render games in 900p when docked, however, so it comes with better ambient sounds. The two versions also differ when it comes to buttons, graphics, and icons but nothing else. For the Wii U, at least 3 GB of free space should be on the system. The Switch version will reportedly offer a similar experience as the Wii U version. There is no difference except for texture filtering. The Switch has a better implementation of bilinear filtering. Based on audio and video quality, the Switch version wins but the resolution is the only key determining factor, and it is negligible. The only major advantage of the Nintendo Switch is its portability.
A lot of buzz has surrounded "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" because it is the headline launch title for the Nintendo Switch. The game has received praise from reviewers. However, the game has reportedly been pirated already. According to reports, the game spoilers have been leaked and it will get worse because the Wii U version has already been pirated before its release date.
Players have discovered that they can download files related to "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" from Nintendo servers. The company has taken down the files but not before these were leaked all over the Internet. Some gamers downloaded encrypted files which can be played on the Nintendo Wii U via a digital skeleton key which was sourced from a legitimate game copy.
The images of almost all enemies, items, and the final boss in "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" have started circulating online, and the game could now be pirated on the Wii U. This is possible because the missing files to pirate it have also been leaked, allowing for soft-modded versions to run pirated copies of the game.
