Pokemon gamers must now eagerly wait and watch out for this year because more content is arriving for the GPS-heavy application, "Pokemon GO". Here’s two words: Legendary Pokemons. The long-awaited legendaries Pokemon will finally make an official appearance in 2017, according to developer Niantic.

In an interview with Wired Germany, Niantic CEO John Hanke, was asked a question about when will legendaries be seen, he answered teasingly, “I can safely say we’ll see more of it this year.” It’s unclear when because this kind of announcement is quite stated vaguely as it is not known if this simply means an announcement for additional creatures will come since legendary creatures in generation one and two like Mew, Mewtwo, Ho-Oh Lugia are already seen in "Pokemon GO" or if new updates will allow trainers to catch new legendary pokemons like Articuno, Zapdos and Moltres.
Although last year, Niantic noticed that a number of trainers’ accounts managed to catch legendary Pokemon Articuno when they shouldn’t have. Definitely far ahead of schedule. However, to preserve the game’s integrity and as a measure of fairness, Niantic rectified the situation and revoked the legendary Pokemon from the trainers’ accounts.
There’s so much to expect this year for "Pokemon GO" as it is also revealed by John Hanke that the "Pokemon GO" application will get 3 major updates this 2017. Since "Pokemon GO" launch last July 2016, Niantic has brought creatures from Pokemon Gold and Silver to the mobile game in February, so more likely than not, hopefully one of the updates will be the release of more legendary Pokemons.
Also in the works, Hanke stated that there are a couple of areas that need to be improved in "Pokemon GO", one of them being playing together and gym battles which were released in an incomplete state so expect updates on trading, reworking gyms, player-versus-player battle combat, and cooperative gameplay.
