In October 2016, Apple released its massively updated, new MacBook Pro. The device's new Touch Bar wowed die-hard Apple fans but its price for its internals certainly didn't as it was packed with outdated specs. If latest reports are believed, then this year would be a completely different story for MacBook Pro 2017 as the rumor mill indicates that it will address a number of issues that were prevalent on its predecessor.

The MacBook Pro 2016 was shipped with 6^th-generation Skylake chips and was rather underpowered compared to rivals that were already out on the market. According to TechRadar, Apple seems intent on making sure that their upcoming MacBook Pro 2017 would be featuring the best and up-to-date processor that Intel has to offer. As Apple takes its time, it appears that 2017 would finally be the year for the Cupertino-based tech giant to embrace Intel's 7^th-generation Kaby Lake chipsets.

It would be suitable enough for MacBook Pro 2017 to sport Kaby Lake processors as it will be given the necessary speed boost, given that it is designed for professional users. With the said processors, Apple would not only catch up to the competition but it would also make its upcoming flagship laptop live up to its name, Inquisitr writes.

Moreover, there would be a possible option of 32GB RAM with the speculated Kaby Lake upgrade. Note that the 2016 MacBook Pro was packed with a modest 16GB RAM. It was sufficient for conventional use but severely inadequate when it comes to professional-grade-graphics-intensive applications.

Other than MacBook Pro 2017's Kaby Lake chipset and 32GB RAM option, speculations are also high regarding the upcoming laptop sporting a far superior battery pack than its predecessor, as per Gotta Be Mobile. Despite Apple's 2016 MacBook Pro promising long hours away from the power outlet, it still garnered complaints of poor battery life just after its release. They may have released an update to address the issue, but still Apple fans desired it to be much better.

If ever Apple integrates Intel's Kaby Lake processor on the MacBook Pro 2017, it would definitely improve the device's power consumption. The said processor will consume significantly less power than the 2016 model's somewhat outdated chip. Intel mentioned that its 7^th-generation chips have the capability of true 4K playback for up to 9.5 hours. With this, Apple's idea of MacBook Pro 2017's battery life that would last beyond 10 hours is very much possible.

Lastly, the MacBook Pro 2017 is said to debut a Retina 2.0 display which is a superior screen resolution that would likely exceed the best that the Cupertino-tech giant currently offers. Despite the details about the MacBook Pro 2017's display being scarce, speculations have been quite high that the said device might possibly feature a 3,200×1,800 QHD+ panel. With this, it would be a significant upgrade over the current model's 2560×1600 resolution.

Note that none of these have been officially announced by Apple. All of these should be taken with a grain of salt.
