The Surface Phone is yet by far the nearest device that Microsoft created that can compete with the iOS ad Android platforms. Nevertheless, there have been numerous times when the brand released some high end devices aside from the Surface Phones.
The absence of the Surface Phone this year is not an indication that the brand is shying away from mobile phones. In fact, in 2016 according to the Market Exclusive, Microsoft's CEO Satya Nadella said they are considering looking for other forms of mobile devices and their individual functions. In November, Nadella confirmed with the Australia Financial Review that the company has started building the ultimate mobile device.
A device that is coming to light somehow have its specs leaked online. In the case of the Surface Phone, some few but prominent specifications were mentioned online. But out of all the features the phone will have, its interesting variants makes us believe, they will have an excellent design. These variants include the Consumer model, the Business model and the Enthusiast model.
A 6GB RAM is in place with the support of Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor with ClearBlack AMOLED display. A patent has been filed by Microsoft mainly for the built in fingerprint on the screen.
Additionally, the Surface Phone might just support Win32 apps with a keyboard and stylish pen to complete the experience. In the coming days, Microsoft might just announce the upcoming Windows Phones, which could also shed some light on the Surface Phone's release date.
