NieR: Automata Review
The recent PAX East 2017 revealed so much about the gaming world and "NieR: Automata" is no exception. Game director Yoko Taro revealed that Square Enix's Yosuke Saito is ready to create DLCs for the game, but the lack of funding became its main setback. During the panel at the event, he revealed that they lack people and budget to create a meaningful DLC for the game.

Taro hopes to give"NieR: Automata" the DLC it deserved, like that of The Witcher 3, but he also understands that it is not possible at the moment. "We don't have enough manpower or budget to create that type of content," he said. He also pointed to the new generation's expectation of DLCs wherein, the vigorous competition is unlikely for the "NieR: Automata."
Nevertheless, the lack of funding has not given Taro any reason to give up on the project. According to TheBitBag, he will continue to work on the content of "NieR: Automata" or "Drakengard" as long as the funding keeps coming. Additionally, he's also interested in creating the "Drakengard" remaster if he gets the proper funding for the game. Despite the successful launching of the game, it's rather secure to think of future content in order to keep the game.
In its first week of sales in Japan, Gematsu reported that "NieR: Automata" garnered a total of 198,542 copies sold the highest selling for newly released games for the week. Taro on the other hand pleaded to fans to keep encouraging Square Enix to provide funding for the game in order to for the team to create meaningful DLCs in the future. The sales is promising, hence the need to continue to provide content for the game.
The next "NieR: Automata" DLC has not yet been confirmed, nevertheless it may arrive in the form of new weapons, cosmetics pods and chips.
