Despite the absence of official details as to when the game will hit PS4 and PS4 Pro, PlayStation Blog has offered a slew of information, images, and sneak peeks about what fans can expect from the game. Here's a round-up of the main details revealed so far about "Days Gone."
Main Protagonist, Horde of Enemies
Fans had a first look at the main protagonist Deacon St John at the game's surprise reveal at E3 last year. Sony showed off Deacon's character in both the cinematic trailer and gameplay footage at the prestigious annual convention.
Deacon will be fighting a horde of flesh-eating enemies called the "freakers." They're described as wild, mindless creatures who are alive but evolving fast. Other than the "freakers," Deacon will also face threats from other humans like the looters and the militia.
Gameplay Details
Among the key aspects of the gameplay of "Days Gone" is to kill the "freakers" which are not certainly zombies. Players are expected to manage their distance from the hordes that move and attack together.
"Days Gone" will introduce an intricate crafting system that allows players to look for things within the environment and build useful tools to survive. Deacon also has a bike, which is pivotal to the game.
"It's extremely nimble - a car can't fit into certain spaces, and can't do certain things a motorcycle can do," SIE Bend explained. "It's not the normal biker gang motorcycle. He's adapted this thing to work in the wild."
Release Date
The horror game will be launched as an exclusive title for Sony's PS4 and the new PS4 Pro consoles, but the release date remains unknown. However, Digital Spy cited that a pre-Christmas launch could be likely.
"Days Gone" was developed by Bend Studio using the innovative Unreal Engine 4. Using this technology, the game will surely deliver an amazingly realistic and intricate open world gaming experience.
