OnePlus has rolled out Android 7.1.1 Nougat update based on OxygenOS Open Beta for OnePlus 3T and OnePlus 3.

The new software update brings the Oxygen OS 4.1.0 update. In includes Android 7.1.1 Nougat update along with Android security patch for the month of March. The update brings certain improvements to better picture taking for moving objects, better video recording with stability, better Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity along with general bug fixes.

At the start of this month, OnePlus had released beta version of 7.1 Nougat beta based on OxygenOS. The weight of the update is 353 MB. The update is being made available to all users gradually. All OnePlus 3 and 3T users are expected to receive the software within this month. So, now both the recent smartphones from OnePlus are running on the latest version of Android Nougat, Tech Update reported.

OnePlus 2 users have not received the Nougat update yet. However, the last major software update for OnePlus 2 users brought Android 6.0 Marshmallow flavored with OxygenOS. As of this writing, there is no confirmation on when the Nougat software will be arriving to OnePlus 2 users. Now that the month of March is coming to an end, rumors are rife that the update would be coming to OnePlus 2 in the second quarter of this year.

OnePlus One and OnePlus X smartphones are unlikely to receive the software update. The reason behind it is that both smartphones are running on Snapdragon 801 chipset and its video drivers are not compatible with Nougat OS.

OnePlus is rumored to be working on a flagship smartphone that is dubbed as OnePlus 5 by the rumor mill. The company will be reportedly skipping the number 4 as it is a bad omen in China. It is expected to come preinstalled with Nougat OS. Some of its rumors specs include 5.5-inch dual-edge screen, Snapdragon 835 and ceramic body.
