The Pirate Bay co-founder Peter Sunde has no plans to follow the court order that requires him to pay back content producers tens of millions in dollars and euros. Sunde said he has no resources at the moment and can only honor his court dues if he could start a new torrent operation similar to TPB.

Putting up a new torrent site to pay back Hollywood was said in jest by Sunde, according to TorrentFreak, as a way to underscore his current financial state - that he has no means to pay the supposedly millions lost by rights holders directly blamed on The Pirate Bay.
The report said in Sweden alone, Sunde and his TPB cohorts will need to shell out around 15 million euros as repayment for the damages incurred by Hollywood producers in relation to The Pirate Bay operation. And in Finland, Sunde will need to pay €350,000 as penalty for the music files that were illegally shared by TPB users and uploaders.
On top of the court-ordered payments, Sunde also served jail terms, TorrentFreak reported.
And Sunde is convinced he has already paid his dues while insisting that his involvement with TPB many years ago earned him no profits at all. He reasoned that since he pocketed not a single dollar or euro while running The Pirate Bay with his friends, there was nothing to give or pay back.
Sunde said he has sent a letter to the court explaining his position and to date he hasn't received a response.
Even in the event that the court presses him to pay, Sunde insisted content producers will not get any money from him. "Out of principle I would never pay them anything," the TPB co-founder told TorrentFreak, explaining too that he never stole anything from movie and music producers to begin with.
And to be realistic, Sunde said he doesn't have the millions to pay back Hollywood. Perhaps, such a scenario could only happen if he will start a new torrenting operation that is similar to The Pirate Bay, the TPB co-founder joked.
