Xiaomi Mi 6
A leaked image has revealed that the upcoming Xiaomi Mi 6 may be powered by Snapdragon 821 instead of the Snapdragon 835 SoC.
The high-end smartphones such as HTC U Ultra and LG G6 that have launched in the first quarter of this year are powered by Snapdragon 821 chipset. The probable reason why these companies opted for SD 821 is that the SD 835 is not available for any other smartphone except for the upcoming Galaxy S8 duo that are launching on March 29.

Since the Galaxy S8 and S8+ are heavily rumored to get the first stock of Snapdragon 835 chipset, other flagship phones that are to be powered by the same SoC are expected to release after the release of Galaxy S8 duo. The Xiaomi MI 6 was speculated to launch on April 16, but it is now rumored to get an official announcement in May. As mentioned above, a leaked image showing the "About Screen" of an alleged Xiaomi Mi 6 smartphone have surfaced.
It shows that the smartphone would be driven by a quad-core processor that has a processing speed of 2.7 GHz. Recent rumors have revealed that because of the shortage in the production of the 10nm Snapdragon 835 chipset, Xiaomi may opt to launch the Mi 6 with Snapdragon 821 SoC. Some rumors have also revealed that Xiaomi may have a lower-end edition of Mi 6 that would be running on Snapdragon 821 SoC.
The Snapdragon 835 SoC is equipped with an octa-core. Hence, it is unlikely the SoC that powers the purported Mi 6 in the image. It could possibly be a variant powered with SD 821 SoC. Other details that have been revealed the leaked shot are 6 GB RAM, 256 GB native storage and Android 7.0 Nougat, Android Headlines reported.
Rumors have it that the Chinese firm may launch its flagship in two models, namely the Mi 6 and Mi 6 Plus. The Mi 6 Plus is rumored to be a larger phone that would be featuring Snapdragon 835 SoC and dual cameras. The Mi 6 is expected to arrive with Snapdragon 821 SoC and single camera, Gizmo China reported.
