Here are simple steps to follow to fix frame rate dropping issues with the newly launched Nintendo Switch.
The launch of the Nintendo Switch was a resounding success with over 1.5 million units sold in its first week. However, not everything about it has been perfect with gamers reporting several issues including dropping frame rates, especially when playing the hybrid console's flagship launch title, the "Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild."

According to Nintendo Life, a third party Switch developer has informed them that the problem is due to the console's Wi-Fi connection which contributes additional load to the processor. This was also confirmed by a reader of Nintendo Life, who suggested that turning off the Wi-Fi auto connect option in System settings can resolve the problem.
"I remember the Digital Foundry experts to have been puzzled how some of the worst framerate issues seem to occur so randomly, not area-specific. I believe these are not the fault of the game, but of the Switch trying to periodically auto-connect to WiFi where there is no network available. This is supposed to happen in the background, but it apparently does affect the game(s)," he said.
Nintendo Life also recommended enabling Flight Mode while playing to disable Nintendo Switch's wireless connection. It's important to remember though not to dock the Switch as the Flight Mode may not work.
BGR did a similar quick test on the Nintendo Switch and reported similar results. It also recommended buying UGREEN USB 3.) to RJ45 Gigabit Ethernet Network Adapter which can double the download speeds on your Nintendo Switch. It is on sale right now on Amazon for just $13.
The Nintendo Switch frame rate dropping problem is common with "The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild" but also occurs in "Fast RMX" and "I am Setsuna."
