Xbox Live gamers will no longer be limited to an avatar or game-related pics as they will soon be allowed to select a custom image for their profile pic.
A blog post from Major Nelson on Monday, March 20, confirmed that Microsoft is bringing many requested features to its preview program and the customized profile pic is just one of them.

Gamers will soon be able to choose their preferred gamer pic from the console, a Windows 10 PC, or a smartphone.
"We're excited to bring this top fan-requested feature to Xbox Live and expect it to be in preview longer than other features to ensure it's great for everyone when released," said Major Nelson.
He warned, however, that it may take a while before this feature is made available to all Xbox users unlike other updates as the company wants to ensure it's going to be great for everyone when released.
According to Microsoft, some of the features will be rolled out starting this month.
The Verge noted that the move "sounds a lot like Microsoft is still figuring out how to moderate images to weed out inappropriate choices."
Another feature for Xbox club, meanwhile, that will take longer to be rolled out include the capability to upload custom images as a Club logo and background.
Other features of update Xbox Live
According to The Verge, one exciting update of the Xbox Live is an option that will allow gamers to filter games by platforms such as Xbox One or Xbox 360 on the My Apps and Games screen. This will reportedly streamline the process of segregating the latest current-gen releases from favorite titles of the past.
Microsoft is also bringing a captive portal support that will bring up a browser for Xbox One to help users log onto public WiFi networks in places such as hotels and college campuses.
