The Tsimane People
It was recently found out that the best heart health in the world comes from a group of indigenous forager-horticulturalists who reside in the Bolivian Amazon. They are not world-famous dieticians, athletes, or Instagram health gurus, but they have the lowest reported levels of vascular aging.

A recent study published in the journal "The Lancet" suggests that the Tsimane people have the healthiest blood vessels in the world and they are five times less likely to suffer from coronary atherosclerosis known as the hardening of the arteries.
Atherosclerosis occurs when the plaque builds up in arteries walls. The latter will then be narrowed which can affect the flow of the blood and may bring heart diseases. Furthermore, if there is a blood clot, then the blood flow may be stopped, which may cause stroke or heart attack.
These indigenous groups from South America had the lowest prevalence of coronary atherosclerosis which may be explained by the combination of their lifestyle and diet. It was suggested that Westerners could adopt some of these useful traits that could lower their own risk of heart diseases.
For instance, their food is high in unprocessed fiber-rich carbohydrates while their diet is low in saturated fat. They also eat fish. With respect to their lifestyle, they usually work throughout the day and their population does not smoke which makes them have the best heart health in the world according to MSN.
Senior author of the study, Professor Hillard Kaplan, said that the newest risks for vascular aging are loss of subsistence diets and lifestyles. The way of life of these people can benefit contemporary sedentary populations.
Senior cardiology author Dr Gregory S. Thomas said in a statement that coronary atherosclerosis could be avoided if the lifestyle of Tsimane is followed, like keeping their LDC cholesterol, no to smoking, and being physically active. Probably, if we are going to have the same diets and lifestyles, then we may have the best heart health in the world.
