Speculations are all over about the existence of the so-called Microsoft Surface Phone, especially from the Redmond-based software giant itself. This time, its Chinese subsidiary has unveiled accidentally what the new name of the Windows phone will be.
As featured in a YouTube video by Microsoft China, it indicates the Continuum feature, which basically turns a Windows phone into a capable desktop. This description is also found in other Microsoft handsets such as the Lumia X.

The description was modified not long after to have Lumia X removed. However, Phone Arena thinks this action will make the device a more existent one, although it has not been officially released or announced.
Media outlets had this under the impression that it could be the Microsoft Surface Phone. While it is also possible that it only pertains to another handset yet to be given a proper name and number, it is also believed that this is a handset from a new lineup.
However, speculations say that Microsoft is omitting the Lumia nickname, which actually came from Nokia, to make their upcoming devices released as their very own. It won't make sense using Lumia in the name of the device, unless the previous reports are untrue.
Nevertheless, the Microsoft Surface Phone was also reported to act as deviation for other Surface products, which will make it logical for the device to have "Surface" in its name.
For the longest time, the handset was labeled Microsoft Surface Phone and there was no hint of other naming schemes until the video came out. What it is trying to imply is that, Lumia X is a completely disparate handset.
Manwhile, it is said that the purported Lumia 650 will soon be out in the market. It is evidently the last from Microsoft under the Lumia lineup. Speculations may be untrue, or Lumia X can be a successor to Microsoft Surface Phone.
