When the Apple TV was released in 2015, many users were somewhat disappointed that the Podcast feature was not added, even though the feature is already available on the older version of the Apple TV. Now that the feature is added, Apple TV owners can now enjoy their favorite podcast shows.
According Tech Crunch, there is a minor glitch that will not allow the Apple TV to sync with other devices. This means that if a user is halfway through a certain podcast on their iPhone and then switch to the Apple TV, they will have to manually skip to that specific time spot as it will not resume exactly on the time when they stopped streaming.
Some tech analysts consider the latest tvOS update as sort of an intermediary update before Apple launches new Apple TV feature in the tvOS 9.2 update. Rumors have it that the upcoming major Apple TV update will bring support for Bluetooth keyboard, the option to create app folders right on the home screen and a new app switch user interface.
According to PC Mag, there is a possibility that Apple might add the much requested multitasking feature on the upcoming tvOS 9.2 update.
It appears that Apple is slowly addressing all the shortcomings of the Apple TV when it was first released on the market. As of this writing, the update is already out and users who want to take advantage of it can simply download the update directly from their Apple TV interface. The update is completely free of charge.
On similar news, Apple rival Google launched its podcast support late in 2015 through its Google Play Music service. Currently, the search engine giant is working with popular podcasters like HBO, Public Radio International, Feral Audio and StarTalk Radio in providing contents to its service.
