The "Energizer Xbox One 2X Smart Chargers" maker Performance Designed Products, commonly known as PDP has recalled the units due to burn hazard issues. According to the latest report, at least 121,000 units were recalled in fear of a defect that can easily cause burn damage to consumers. The complaint reveal that the chargers overheat and suffered deformity, whereas the rest say they smell a burning odor emitting from the charger.

Take note that a specific charger is currently investigated and PDP released the description saying "The chargers are black plastic and measure about 3.5 inches long, 5 inches wide and 11 inches tall. "Energizer" is printed on the charger's label. Item number 048-052-NA is printed on the bottom of the chargers. The chargers hold up to two controllers."

As of March 14, The Verge reported that they still see the specific Xbox One controller chargers on online and retail stores such as Newegg and eBay. No reports of accidents caused by the overheating chargers have been reported. Apparently, PDP has been quick in making the next move to avoid such unfortunate occurrence.

Performance Designed Products or PDP is a third party maker of accessories and controllers across the different platforms. The company is behind the colorful Rock Candy line controllers for PS3, Xbox 360, Wii and PC. As for the current gen consoles mainly the PS4 and Xbox One, PDP designs the afterglow controllers that are adapted to the consoles.

According to the Attack of the Fanboy, this is the first time PDP recalled one of its products. A record that shows why fans have trusted the company. That said, players should check their current Xbox controllers charger and make sure to have them changed if they fall on the item number for recall indicated.
