"Pokemon GO" is available to play on iOS and Android systems. (YouTube)
Another "Pokemon GO" event has gone live! Those who are still struggling to get a Lapras will be overjoyed as the Water Festival will increase the spawns of water creatures - even the rare ones.
Here is everything there is to know about the latest event.
In the official announcement, the water Pokemon specifically mentioned are Magikarp, Totodile, Squirtle, and Lapras. But all water creatures from Gen 1 and Gen 2 are promised to spawn more frequently. Included are Omanyte, Kabuto, Shellder, Qwilfish, Mantine, and more.

Trainers who want to get a Gyarados should take advantage of the "Pokemon GO" event while it is live as the said monster will now become more common. They can also catch the remaining number of Magikarp needed to evolve it.
The "Pokemon GO" event officially started on Wednesday at 4 p.m. EST. Players have a chance to catch as many water creatures as they can until March 29 4 p.m. EST. After which, the spawn rates of these monsters go back to normal.
There are some comments saying that the "Pokemon GO" event might end as a failure for some. Although Niantic promised more spawn rates, some biomes might not even get water Pokemon at all, as what happened during the Valentine's Day event with Chansey and Porygon.
However, it is still a good step by the developers. Generation 2 was just introduced to the game. This is a good chance to catch some or most of the water creatures of the latest gen.
Apart from the increase in spawn rates, the "Pokemon GO" update also patched a feature, Kotaku reported. When players achieve the 7-day streak from PokeStops, a random item will now be given to them when they evolve a Pokemon.
