Todesco confirmed via Twitter recently that he is exiting the jailbreaking industry. (Twitter)
Hours after Apple's release of iOS 10.3, Yalu jailbreak creator Luca Todesco announced his exit from public jailbreaking. Then beta 1 of version 10.3.2 was seeded to developers as preparations for the nearing iOS 11 launch appear to be underway. With the dizzying pace of developments, it looks like jailbreaking is reduced to playing catch up.

And that being the case, it's not a remote possibility that the jailbreak era is coming to an end. Prior to "Todesco's resignation" from the jailbreak scene, as termed by iDownloadBlog.com, the prevailing sentiment was jailbreaking's not exciting as it was. Both Team Pangu and TaiG remained unaccounted for months after the deployment of iOS 10.
The two jailbreak makers were initially rumored to be racing against each other to first provide an iOS 10 jailbreak version but Apple's mobile OS is now v. 10.3 and they are still missing in action. It can only be concluded that they have given up, the same way that their predecessors did.
Pangu and TaiG remain silent and the best explanation that can be conjured up is that Apple has outraced them. The hackers got frustrated with the speed that Apple was able to patch iOS exploits and close the door on possible cracks.
The same was evident with iOS 10.3. Hours after its rollout, the tech giant seeded to developers beta 1 of version 10.3.2 and indicated bug fixes are part of the package. That also reads as a warning that any attempt to modify the OS will not go too far - Apple intends to stop hackers on their tracks with weekly OS updates, beta or official releases.
Somehow, iOS 10.3 and more so iOS 11, expected for a sneak peek via Apple's WWDC 2017, becoming virtually jailbreak-proof was confirmed by Todesco. Part of his Twitter post that indicated he's "done with jailbreaking," was the advisory to save blobs and to stay on iOS 10.2.1. That's like saying that moving up to 10.3 will render Yalu102 jailbreak unusable and there is little chance that Todesco will release another jailbreak tool, ever.
The most that can be expected from the Yalu jailbreak creator, according to iDB, is he will continue with his iOS research mission and perhaps collaborate with developers but in a diminished capacity. It is said that the new iOS APFS file system is a jailbreak killer but Todesco is expected to continue dig inside of the OS and identify potential jailbreak exploits, but short of actually of concocting another public jailbreak tool, iDB said on its report.
It's unclear if Luca Todesco plans to still finalize his Yalu102 jailbreak, make it more stable, usable and expand its coverage to all 64-bit iOS devices, but one thing seems to be quite obvious for now - it will be awhile before a better jailbreak will be seen on the horizon.
