The official game art of "Destiny 2" featured the Cabal invading the Last City, where the Guardian's lived. Fires glow and smoke bellows across the landscape of which players in the Tower have stared across for the past two and a half years. Something or someone has definitely laid waste to what has been the one safe place in the solar system for Guardians and the rest of humankind.
The Cabal Invasion was first teased in the Mega Blok playset, which the first "Destiny" game did not feature such an event. That is because one of the last story missions of "The Taken King" expansion called "The Coming War" sends players off to find the source of an unknown transmission.
At the end of that mission it is revealed that the Cabal ship aboard the Dreadnaught was beaming a distress signal to the leader of the Cabal empire, leading many to believe that the alien force will head toward Earth in the future of "Destiny’s" narrative.
Perhaps the mission was a foreshadowing of the consequences the players made during the storyline, which will carry on to "Destiny 2's" plot, Gamerant reported.
Meanwhile, Bungie launched a teaser trailer for "Destiny 2" which featured the Guardian Cayde-6 (voiced by Nathan Fillion) drinking at a bar and telling several events that happened before.
Cayde-6 explains that he was in a meeting with the other Guardians when a huge explosion happened. Then the Cabal attacked the Last City as the Guardians quickly fought back in defense. Cayde-6 was able to defeat several Cabal soldiers on his way, and complains about one of them destroying his favorite bar.
The teaser trailer ends with Cayde-6 leaving the already destroyed bar, as he joins his fellow Guardians in defending the city against the Cabal revealing a world wide trailer on March 30 at 10am PT/6pm BST, The Verge reported.
Previous reports teased that there are already a pre-order details for "Destiny 2" in the PC platform, not to mention a beta test for the PlayStation 4 soon.
"Destiny 2" is speculated to launch on Sept. 8 for the PS4, Xbox One and PC platforms.
