Samsung Galaxy Note 8 Release Date, Leaks: Dual-Camera Set-up Hinted, August Launch? (YouTube)
With the announcement of the Galaxy S8, Samsung fans are now looking forward to the Galaxy Note 8, which is still shrouded in mystery. There is not much that the mobile community knows about the phablet, but a recent report suggests that it might have a dual-camera set-up like the iPhone 7 Plus.

The Galaxy S8 and S8 Plus sport nothing new in the camera department, but the Note 8 might change that. According to ValueWalk, a leaked patent shows a dual-camera module that will likely appear in the upcoming phablet.
The Note 8 patent describes a two sensors inside a slim chassis. The sensors will help for collecting more photons, which would allow the camera to function better in low-light conditions. The set-up will also help in measuring distance accurately and 3D mapping.
Other expected features to be included in this set-up are optical image stabilization and zooming capabilities based on the patent filing's references to magnets and lens alignments. As Samsung is a leader when it comes to camera quality, hopes are high that the Note 8 will surpass the iPhone 7 Plus' shooting prowess.
Inside the phablet is reportedly a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835, the same processor in Samsung's smartphone flagship. A 6GB RAM may also be present along with 64GB of storage, TechDigg reported. But the Note 8's most distinguishing feature may be the AMOLED 4K display.
As for its release date, an August launch is most likely. The Note 7 was unveiled and released in August as well last year, so even though the S8 was delayed, the Note 8 could come early given that Samsung has no flagship phablet right now.
If it is true, consumers can expect more leaks and reports to come in the months leading to August. An official announcement regarding the Note 8 can also be expected by then.
