On April, Samsung will make both the Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8 Plus readily available and the big question for Android and Sammy fans alike is: Which one to pick or better yet, which is the better buy?
In a comparison take by Business Insider, the gist of the story is that the GS8 and GS8+ are identical, meaning users that will crack open the retail box will get nearly the same treatment. The only most defining differences are the screen sizes and the handset heft, the latter obviously more prominent on the GS8+.

But in terms of the so-called wow-effect, users will get the same no matter what will end up on their hands. In fact, Business Insider said that despite the disparity in screen size and pixels per inch (ppi) "there was no perceivable difference in sharpness between the Galaxy S8 and S8+."
And the two handsets will certainly deliver the same optimal mobile experience, which is highlighted in the identical features for both devices outlined by the same report below:
- Water resistance
- Samsung's smart AI assistant, called Bixby
- Curved edges
- 12-megapixel rear camera, 8-megapixel front camera
- Wireless and fast charging
- Iris and face recognition
- Compatible with Samsung DeX monitor dock
So the bottom line, it will be a matter of preference on the part of the users. Any of the GS8 and GS8+ will look stunning and will draw attention but the choice will all boil down to ease of use as to be sure the 5.8-inch GS8 will be relatively easier to handle. When using the 6.2-inch GS8+, it's hard to imagine how to navigate on the phone with only one hand. On this, what will dictate is personal pick - choosing between a giant and supersized device.
Sticker price, of course, will also play a big role when deciding which to grab. The GS8 will start at $720 at Verizon while the GS8+ is ready to go for $840 or $120 more. If indeed the new Samsung flagships are nearly identical but with one offering significant savings, then the choice will be easy.
Or if saving as much dollar as possible is of the prime importance, then best to heed the recommendation from Forbes - skip the two Galaxy S8 models and settle for the Galaxy S7 Edge. The 2016 flagship is certainly not too far in sexiness and power specifications but will be more budget-friendly, thanks to the expected price cuts in the immediate aftermath of the GS8 rollout.
