Samsung loses to Huawei in patent battle in China/ YouTube
For many years now, Samsung has been known to be the leader of great innovations when it comes to smartphone technologies, however, a recent crisis has struck the Korean tech giant. China's smartphone maker, Huawei has sued Samsung for patent infringement.
The case was brought to court and for the first time, Samsung lost the big patent battle with Huawei. Chinese court in Quanzhou has charged Samsung a fee of $11.6 million for violating intellectual property. It is reported that 20 smartphones have been allegedly included in the infringement violation.

Huawei claimed that the patent comes from them at the time that Samsung is using it without permission. Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge are said to be included in the list of infringed patent.

Samsung's spokesperson explained that Samsung Electronics has pioneered the technological innovation and will continue to invest in Research and Development to provide consumers with a variety of smartphone products. Furthermore, they will revisit the court's decision in order to determine the correct responses to the situation.
It seemed that Samsung and Huawei have a long way in terms of intellectual property issues. Samsung also sued Huawei last July for an inappropriate use of Samsung's technology for two Huawei smartphones.
Despite the Quanzhou Intermediary Court of China's decision, Samsung maintained that it did not violate any of Huawei's patents. It is important to note that Huawei has filed the case against Samsung in several courts in China and the US but only one has delivered its judgment.
