Keeping a relationship is important, but knowing when to let go is also essential. As a guide on whether you should let go in a relationship or not, outlined below are some of the things to consider according to experts.
According to experts, whenever you always censor yourself or stifle parts of you to make it work, you should try to start re-evaluating such relationship. Marriage and family therapist Esther Boykin suggests that you should be more comfortable with who you are with the one you love, regardless how goofy, weird, beautiful, funny, awkward you would be.

Perhaps one of the crucial signs to consider about letting go is when your partner is not emotionally available. It would not require further explanation to understand that someone who is emotionally unavailable or unwilling to be present with you during difficult times is the right person.
"A healthy relationship requires you both to be able to show up emotionally for each other, especially when things are hard," Bustle quoted Boykin as saying.
Similar to emotionally availability, trust and respect should always be considered. If you don't trust and respect your partner or the other way around, it would be impossible to build a lasting relationship, much more to fix a problem.
Moreover, if you argue too much especially when you are together, it is a good indicator that such relationship is unhealthy, according to Good Men Project. If such issue would not be fixed or beyond repair, then letting go could be the right option for you.
Letting go has never been easy, but it would be the best thing to do in order for you to grow. After years of trying to fix things, but still, issues keep on recurring, it would be better to let go. Staying in a toxic relationship will never work out, it will ultimately kill the relationship itself.
