Currently, Apple's homegrown radio station; Beats 1 airs somewhere in Chelsea where New York City based DJ Ebro Darden currently hosts. Beats 1 was first introduced alongside Apple Music in 2015. The internet-based radio station at the time aired on at least 100 countries and is hosted by two more DJs mainly Julie Adenuga and former BBC radio 1 host Zane Lowe.
Beats 1 gained popularity after it allowed listeners to use the service for free and without the need to register to Apple music. It is also available in different Apple platforms like the iPad, Apple Watch, Apple TV, iTunes on Mac and PC. Apple has not confirmed the unique area for Beats 1 on Fifth Avenue, but based on leaked info, there's no reason it shouldn't.
Based on a statement released by Apple Music executive Larry Jackson, Beats 1 is currently the largest radio station in the world with the most number of listeners recorded in time. Meanwhile, the Apple Insider reported that, the Beats 1 studio in Fifth Avenue could be used as a venue for big events like personalities attending the radio station events. The means, the Chelsea studio will remain for its daily trans of music. Interestingly, the Apple store in Fifth Avenue that is also currently under renovation is said to have doubled its floor area from 32,000 square feet to approximately 77,000 square feet. Apple's temporary store for those who want to visit is located at the FAO Schwarz.
