CloudHealth Genomics released the first sequencing data in China on Illumina's NovaSeq 6000. (YouTube)
CloudHealth Genomics Ltd. revealed on Monday that it has produced and made available the first set of sequencing results on Illumina's NovaSeq 6000 in their new operational site in Nanjing's Yangzhi Innovation Center.
"We are thrilled to be the first in China to see the data generated on Illumina's NovaSeq 6000 sequencers, in a very short timeframe," Dr. Jason Gang Jin, CloudHealth Genomics' CEO, said. He also added that the platform could perform whole genome sequencing as well as whole exome sequencing, targeted resequencing, transciptome sequencing, and whole genome methylation sequencing in a timely and cost-effective way.

"We do look forward to the $100 genome from NovaSeq sequencing systems, but we know it might take another 5 to 8 years to achieve that ultimate goal, so in the meantime, HiSeq X Ten will maintain its cost and pricing advantage for whole genome sequencing for a long period of time."
CloudHealth Genomics is a genomics-based precision medicine solutions provider in China. It has completely installed, validated, and ran China's first set of NovaSeq 6000 during the first week of this month.
Earlier this year, CloudHealth Genomics also presented data for the launch of HealthySeq, the world's first whole genome next generation sequencing-based liquid biopsy test designed to make a genomic baseline for healthy individuals.
Liquid biopsy has been widely used to assist in the diagnosis, treatment decision process, and monitoring for several cancer types. Since early disease detection is more logical, CloudHealth Genomics initiated a strategic approach by incorporating whole genome and target-sequencing of circulating markers for healthy patients for disease stratification, early screening, and precise therapy identification.
The Shanghai-based firm boasts of a certified clinical genetic testing lab and high throughput sequencing centers, namely, the HiSeq X10 platform, NovaSeq, and PacBio Sequels systems, in Shanghai and Nanjing. CloudHealth Genomics is a subsidiary of CloudHealth Medical Group ecosystem, together with CloudHealth Life Center, CloudHealth High-End Clinic Center, CloudHealth Big Data Center, to name a few.
