Gearbox may already be working on "Borderlands 3", with the latest development teaser dropped by the studio's CEO himself, Randy Pitchford. But this won't be first as another clue was also given at Game Developer's Conference (GDC) last month.

Via his Twitter account, Pitchford shared a photo of himself, where he's seen all suit up with a motion capture gear. His tweet reads:

Despite that he didn't mention what game the mo-cap photo pertains to, many assumed that it's for "Borderlands 3". That's because this is the second time that Gearbox's boss dropped a hint that the third game could be brewing at the developer's factory.

Back at the GDC 2017, Pitchford offered a tech demo showing off the technology used at the studio in game development. He confirmed that now, they're using Unreal Engine 4, which he also revealed will power the next "Borderlands" installment.

He emphasized that the footage and the images shown in the said demo were not final and part of "Borderlands 3". But these offered a peek at the next level of the game's visuals upon its release.

It's more than four years now since the last entry to the franchise was launched in 2012. It's pretty enough time for fans to speculate that a follow-up is in the offing.

However, even if the new game is indeed underway, it appears to be a long wait still. This is so since Gearbox has to get things done on "Battleborn and the game's DLCs. Other than that, publisher Take Two doesn't "Borderlands 3" in its list of game releases for fiscal year calendar for 2017.
