This day will change aviation: 1st flight of world-record motor/ YouTube
Tesla has conquered the ground for its electric cars but Siemens has recently proven that electric engines can take planes to the skies. The Extra 330 LE electric plane has set a new record of 210 Mph over a distance of three (3) kilometers. Several flying tests have been conducted before but this is the fastest record so far of the electric plane.

It has been reported by Livescience that the electric plane has a take-off weight of fewer than 1,000 kilograms. The power source is a 50 - kilogram lightweight electric motor that is supplying 260 kilowatts of power. With this new record of the Extra 330LE, Siemens is able to show that electric powered planes are possible.
It was only last year that Siemens engaged into the development of the electric powered car with Airbus. There is a projection that further technology fine-tuning will make possible the production of an electric plane that could fly up to 100 passengers to a distance of 1,000 kilometers. Although, there are no plans for mass manufacture of the 330 LE, but the company is targeting to have its first passenger flight by 2030.
